Specimen
12 hours prior to specimen collection discontinue multivitamins or dietary supplements containing biotin (vitamin B7), commonly found in hair, skin, and nail supplements. Nivolumab (Opdivo) must be discontinued at least 4 weeks prior to testing.
Red top tube, collect 3 mL blood immediately before next scheduled dose
Centrifuge and serum from cells within 2 hours of collection
Serum, 1.5 mL (0.8 mL minimum), refrigerated
Rejection Criteria
Plasma, specimens not centrifuged and separated within 2 hours of collection, room temperature specimens, insufficient quantity, unlabelled specimens
