Plasma, hemolyzed speicmen, lipemic specimen, specimen not centrifuged <2 hours from collection, specimen at room temperature >24 hours

Interpretative Information

Procollagen Type 1 N-terminal propeptide (PINP) is considered to be the most sensitive biomarker of bone formation. Procollagen I intact N-terminal propeptide (PINP) values should not be used as a screening test for osteoporosis in the general population.
