Specimen Requirements
Two (2) Greiner 2.0 mL 3.2% Sodium Citrate blue top tubes must be collected. Tubes must filled to black arrow on tube. Do not underfill or overfill.
Storage and Transport
Room temperature. Transport to the lab immediately.
Special Instructions
Tubes must be filled to its intended whole blood capacity (indicated by small black line). Must come to the Hematology lab to get tube.
Causes for Rejection
Incorrect tube, tube improperly filled, clotted, hemolysis; improper labeling; delay in transport
