No sample required unless there is not a current type on file.
Samples require Name, MRN, date and phlebotomist initials/Cerner ID.

Storage and Transport

Notify the Blood Bank when ready for product to be thawed. FFP will not be prepared until verification from the floor that they are ready for preparation and transfusion.

Causes for Rejection

Improper labeling; wrong tube; gross hemolysis; insufficient volume

Interpretation

Fresh Frozen Plasma is a source of stable and labile coagulation factors. The factors include: Factor V, Factor VII, Factor VIII, Factor X, Factor XI, Factor XIII, and fibrinogen.
