Improper labeling; wrong tube; gross hemolysis; insufficient volume

Interpretation

If the mother is not sensitized to the Rho(D) antigen, is Rho(D) negative, delivers a Rho(D) positive infant, and has a negative DAT test, the mother is a candidate for Rho(D) immune globulin. Although the DAT test can be positive due to ABO attached antibodies, this will not exclude the mother’s candidacy for RhIG immune globulin.

Methodology

ABO and Rh Testing by saline room temperature test, Weak D testing at 37 deg C with AHG. Uses IgG antihuman globulin serum in test procedure with patient’s washed RBCs.
